The Slave Bible
The Slave Bible
The Slave Bible was a modified version of the Bible given to “negro slaves” for the purpose of their subjugation. It removed key chapters and books pointing to identity, prophecy, the book of the law and deliverance. This included the removal of genealogies as well as much of Exodus, much of the prophets and more. It retained books that could be twisted to justify chattel slavery. Of the 1,189 chapters, it contained only 232.
“This version of the Bible excludes 90 percent of the Old Testament as well as 50 percent of the New Testament. Absent are all of the Psalms, that talk about hope for God’s liberation from oppression, as well as the entire Book of Revelation” - Archive.org
